Anssi Tikanmäki Orchestra will perform on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009, a concert as part of the Cannes International Film Festival. The outdoor concert will take place on the Cannes beach next to the Palais de Festivals. The Orchestra will play unplugged as a quartet and the repertoire consists mainly of Tikanmäki compositions from Aki and Mika Kaurismäki as well as other glimpses of the Finnish soul and landscapes.

Anssi Tikanmäki offers a delicious melting pot of musics: often melodramatic, sometimes jazzy and of course with a touch of Finnish tango. Its latest CD H2O.fi, released in February, is the third in the series of Finnish Landscapes by Tikanmäki.

This year Anssi Tikanmäki Orchestra has already performed together with Pori Sinfonietta and Seinäjoki City Orchestra.
